President Magufuli was informed of many technological as well as financial resource challenges facing TBC by Dr Ayoub Rioba, TBC Director.
“I have seen and heard all your challenges and promise to give you the required support to make TBC respected broadcast station in the the country,” President Magufuli said.
President Magufuli said his government will provide the needed financial muscles to build a modern broadcasting station in Dodoma, the capital city of Tanzania.
Furthermore, President Magufuli has instructed TBC Director Dr. Rioba to utilise TZs 3 billion which the government has disbursed to TBC to procure new broadcasting facilities to facilitate production and dissemination of quality programmes and rehabilitation of dilapidated buildings.
“You must be different from other broadcasting stations because your objective is different from them. You are obliged to provide correct and objective information as well as news to all Tanzanians without any form of discrimination,” President Magufuli reminded TBC Management and staff.
In his visit, President Magufuli was accompanied by the Minister for Information, Arts and Culture, Dr. Harrison Mwakyembe.
