The
event will take place from March 8 to 12, this year, and will provide a
unique opportunity to assess the global tourism industry.
According to an official from the German Embassy in Tanzania, John Merikion, this year’s delegation will be led by former Judge Thomas Mihayo, the Chairman of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB).
He said that from March 8 onwards ITB will open its doors through to Sunday March 12, 2017, welcoming business people and tourists.
The ITB is the world’s leading travel trade show with 10,000 exhibitors from 187 countries.
While in Germany, the Tanzanian delegation will get a chance to promote their products and make crucial business contacts at the fair.
Co-hosting a reception at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, attended by more than 70 tourism executives, Ambassador Egon Kochanke wished success to the Tanzanian businesspeople.
He said ITB was the most important platform for accessing the German as well as European tourism markets.
In attendance at the event were, among others, Chrisophe Bazivamo, EAC Deputy Secretary; Alan Kijazi, the Director General of TANAPA; Tom Kunkler, Managing Director of KILIFAIR Promotions; and Wilbard Chambulo, the Managing Director of TATO.
